Professional Services Consultant in CANBERRA, Australian Capital Territory for sale

Job Summary Professional Services Consultant: Develops and delivers detailed technology solutions through consulting project activities. Responsibilities include client identification through final invoicing for engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment. Performance is typically evaluated based on utilization, (i.e., billable hours). Project management activities include interaction with company and client managers and cost/schedule monitoring. May have some financial responsibilities including project cost estimating, proposal generation, and invoicing. May participate in sales and proposal presentations in addition to completing ongoing team account activities. Identifies additional product/services opportunities in customer organization. Performance is typically measured by the capture of the consulting engagement and/or delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours. Job Requirements - Proficiency in two of the following NetApp Specialty Solutions:- SAN, Exchange, Databases (Oracle, SQL), DR/BC, Compliance or Grid Computing- Strong knowledge of protocols including:- TCP/IP, NFS, SMTP, SNMP, FTP, HTTP- Strong knowledge of RAID, Fiber Channel, SCSI, DLT- In-depth knowledge of Windows, Unix and/or System Administration skills on products such as NetApp, SUN, HP, IBM, EMC- 6 to 8 years of consulting and/or project management experience implementing NetApp specialty solutions.- Prior consulting experience including providing strategic and tactical planning for data management and delivery systems.- Broad exposure to a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.- Experience in project managing storage solutions.- Excellent analytical/problem solving abilities, leadership and sales skills.- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation, customer, business and negotiation skills.- Direct people management experience with the ability to drive the activities of multi-person customer, partner and NetApp consulting teams. - Drive the selection and business negotiation with consulting partners.- Up to 85%+ travel required.Responsibility and Interaction:- Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often unstructured, have wide implications and there are multiple outcomes. - This individual will apply broad expertise or unique technical/industry knowledge in solving problems that are unique and extremely complex given time, budget and resource constraints.- Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving strategy decisions. - Interaction: - This individual must work effectively with staff to vice-president level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. - Limited supervision is provided, as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently. - The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert.- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through leadership and influencing multiple individuals and groups.- Often acts as mentor or facilitator. Education Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
